It provides high plasticization efficiency , low volatility , resistance to cold and good heat resistance . It is often used in industry with phthalates. It is also used in various rubber formulations, such as nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose polymethylmethacrylate, vinyl chloride, and polystyrene. It can also be used as a plasticizer for vinyl acetate copolymers and the like. Ester varieties react with alcohols and acids to liberate heat. This compound can even react with oxidizing agents . It hydrolyzes under acidic or basic ambient conditions. Dicktilsebakat shows strong weather resistance and electrical insulation properties when used with phthalate acids and esters. It is an oily colorless liquid.
