It is a synthetic rubber produced as a result of polymerization of Chloroprene monomer. Chloroprene rubber has very good resistance to oils with aliphatic characters thanks to the Kior atom. Due to its crystallization tendency, it shows satisfactory mechanical properties even without adding any components. Its resistance to cold, crystallization property and glassy transition temperature ( – It has a very long tensile strength, abrasion resistance and repeated flexing resistance in mixtures prepared with reinforcement additives. Its resistance to weather conditions and ozone is high.
The product’s heat resistance is approximately 125 ºC. It has good alcohol resistance and excellent adhesion with metals.
It has low temperature resistance up to 40 ° C. Ketone resistance is not strong, but gas permeability is weak. Ozone resistance and dielectric resistance are very good.
Its resistance to acids and tearing is good, but its base strength is not very good. Also, its abrasion resistance is very high In addition , oil resistance and water resistance are in standards .
Unlike many unsaturated elastomers on the market, chloroprene rubber does not vulcanize with sulfur. It is generally used in zinc oxide, magnesium oxide and peroxides for the vulcanization of Chloroprene rubber.
